Commission artist, are still alive and kicking says Humble, Texas based artist, Ray Gatica, where he works all around the Houston area and anywhere else he is called upon. Freelance artist, also known as independent artist; wind up doing an array of creative projects, which is the nature of the business. We do jobs for professional and private clients. The more you are involved in the art and creating for clients the more experience you get says Gatica.

Let us say that when you have an artistic idea and do not have the artistic experience to make your idea come to life, you would most likely look for an artist, or crafts, artisan or someone similar to help you with the creation of your vision.

Now a days if you are looking for help with a project you would do a search in Google, by typing search words or phrases…for instance: commission artists, freelance artists, along with typing in a location like Houston, TX, or Austin Texas.

Usually a well-seasoned artist can be of great service because they can carry a project from preliminary design to finishing the project.

Over the years we have matched curtain colors with the airbrush, we have repainted over existing art canvas pieces, repainted leaded glass art, metal sculptors, we have painted wall graphics, repaired mural on existing walls, painted gym graphics, school hall way graphics, painted a coffin once, painted airbrush art on metal, airbrush painted on glass and mirrors, pool area murals, and an array of other similar creative projects.
Because of our painting and art experience, we have worked in a variety of styles: underwater sea scape themes a la, Chris Reese Lassen, mythical art, art deco art, ultra-modern contemporary, modern graphics and special effects, pin-up girls on metal, fine airbrush art on metal, airplane graphics and airplane leading-edge repair.
Commission artist are like guns for hire, we go where the work calls us, says Gatica. We have traveled all around the Houston area; including surrounding areas like Bellaire, Sugarland, Texas City, Rosenberg, Spring, Katy, Austin, etc.…you get the picture.
Our specialties are airbrushing, graphic design and murals. So when we are not producing in one thing, we are doing another. For instance one day I might be giving airbrush lesson, the next day I might be airbrush painting a motorcycle or other graphics on a car, truck etc. And, some day we might be painting over-size school graphics. We can do this because of our vast experience. This is what commission artist do. Working with an experienced artist can be a fun experience.
